Durham County Wildlife Club
The Durham County Wildlife Club is located off Hopson Road in the heart of the Research Triangle Park, within minutes of Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and convenient to the Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill areas of central North Carolina.
Primarily a shotgun oriented facility offering trap, skeet, and sporting clays, the club does include a pistol range, with target positions out to 100 meters. (Only .22 rim fire rifles, or pistols firing "classical pistol cartridges" may be used. Not allowed are pistols firing high-intensity bottle-neck type rifle cartridges or ANY center fire rifle. Black powder pistols are allowed, but not BP rifles.)
More than just "a place to shoot," the club has 96 acres of land, which includes an eleven acre lake complete with picnic tables and a large clubhouse. These are in addition to the well manicured shooting facilities. Forty acres of the property remain wooded, offering a serene respite from the pressures of life in the Triangle.
The club grounds and clubhouse are available for use to community minded civic and sports-person's organizations, and are currently used by groups such as the Boy Scouts of America, The Durham J-C's, The Triangle Fly-Fishermen and others.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Durham County Wildlife Club please click the "How to Join" link on the sidebar to your left.
No hunting is allowed on any of the club's grounds.
